What are the opening hours of Café de la Paix?

Café de la Paix welcomes guests every day. Lunch is served from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., while dinner is available from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

On public holidays, lunch is served from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., while dinner remains available from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

For a break at any time of day, the Café area welcomes guests continuously from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

A Parisian institution since 1862, Café de la Paix is located at 5 Place de l’Opéra, 75009 Paris, opposite the Palais Garnier, in the heart of one of the capital’s most iconic districts.

How can I get to Café de la Paix?

Ideally located in the heart of Paris, Café de la Paix is easily accessible by public transport.

Opéra station, served by Metro lines 3, 7 and 8, is just a few steps away. Auber station, served by the RER A, as well as Saint-Lazare railway station, are also nearby.

Café de la Paix does not have a private car park or valet parking service. We invite you to use one of the public car parks located nearby.

What type of cuisine does Café de la Paix offer?

Café de la Paix celebrates the great classics of French cuisine, reimagined with elegance and lightness by Executive Chef Laurent André.

The menu features iconic dishes such as foie gras, tartare, sole meunière and French onion soup, alongside a selection of oysters, shellfish and crustaceans available from the Seafood Counter.

Who is the Chef at Café de la Paix?

The cuisine at Café de la Paix is led by Executive Chef Laurent André.

Having worked in prestigious establishments alongside Alain Chapel and Alain Ducasse, at Le Louis XV in Monaco and later at Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris, he creates generous and refined cuisine inspired by the finest traditions of French gastronomy.

Does Café de la Paix offer a lunch set menu?

Yes. From Monday to Friday, Café de la Paix offers a seasonal lunch menu created by the Chef, showcasing carefully selected ingredients and the flavours of the moment.

Guests may choose between a starter and main course or a main course and dessert for €39, or enjoy the complete starter, main course and dessert menu for €49.

Does Café de la Paix offer vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free options?

Yes. Café de la Paix is committed to accommodating the dietary preferences and requirements of its guests. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are available on the menu, and our teams can also adapt selected dishes upon request.

We kindly invite you to inform us of any allergy, intolerance or specific dietary requirement when making your reservation or upon arrival, so that our teams can assist you accordingly.

Can I visit Café de la Paix without staying at InterContinental Paris Le Grand?

Of course. Café de la Paix is open to everyone, whether or not you are staying at InterContinental Paris Le Grand.

For more than 160 years, this iconic Parisian address has welcomed both Parisians and visitors from around the world throughout the day.

Reservations are available exclusively for the Restaurant at Café de la Paix.

Can I reserve a table on the terrace or in the Café area?

No. Reservations are available for the Restaurant only. The terrace and Café area are accessible without reservation, subject to availability upon arrival.

Can I enjoy a coffee on the terrace at Café de la Paix?

Yes. Overlooking the Palais Garnier, the terrace at Café de la Paix offers an exceptional setting in which to enjoy a coffee, a homemade pastry, a drink or a gourmet moment throughout the day.

The terrace is available without reservation, subject to availability and weather conditions.

Can I simply come for a drink or a pastry?

Absolutely. There is no need to join us for lunch or dinner to enjoy Café de la Paix.

From breakfast through to the evening, guests are welcome to enjoy a coffee, a drink, a pastry or a light bite. These areas are accessible without reservation, subject to availability.

Can I have lunch or dinner on the terrace?

Yes. The terrace at Café de la Paix offers a privileged setting for lunch or dinner, with views over the Palais Garnier.

Terrace tables cannot be reserved and are allocated subject to availability upon arrival, as well as seasonal and weather conditions.

Are pets allowed at Café de la Paix?

Pets are not permitted within the establishment, with the exception of guide dogs, in accordance with the venue’s accessibility policy.

Grand Brunch

Does Café de la Paix offer brunch?

Yes. Every Sunday, Café de la Paix invites guests to discover its Grand Brunch, created by Chef Laurent André.

Priced at €120 per person, it includes a glass of Champagne and features a generous selection of savoury and sweet creations.

Brunch is complimentary for children under 3 years old, while children aged 4 to 12 benefit from a 50% discount.

Is the Grand Brunch accompanied by live music?

Yes. Every Sunday, live music accompanies the Grand Brunch, creating an elegant, warm and convivial atmosphere in the heart of Paris.

Live Music

Does Café de la Paix host live music evenings?

Yes. Every Friday and Saturday evening, Café de la Paix comes alive with live performances.

French classics, international favourites and iconic songs set the tone throughout the evening, accompanying dinner in an elegant and vibrant atmosphere.

On Sundays, live music also accompanies the Grand Brunch, extending the experience in a warm and refined setting.
